Iron Beagle Challenge

This Challenge seeks the top all-around Beagle using combined, weighted scores from the sports of Obedience, Rally, Agility and Scent Work for 2020.

There is NO separate entry fee required.

Any dog entered in at least one class in three of the four sporting events offered, can be included. Presentation of the Winner will be on Monday once all performance competition has ended.

Interested parties are encouraged to email Amanda Stipe at houndess@gmail.com prior to the National Specialty. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, we’d like participants to assist us this year. An application will be available for you to help us. All application pages must be submitted via email to Amanda Stipe or in person to Deb Krier or Amanda no later than Monday, September 21, 1 hour after Agility trial is over. You may send pages prior to Monday’s deadline (see individual application pages for further information).

Show Catalog

We recommend that you pre-order the 2020 Show Catalog. There will be a limited number of unmarked catalogs available at the show for $25 each.

Pick up pre-paid, unmarked catalogs at the Show Secretary’s table. If you order a marked catalog, you may pick it up at the Secretary’s table after the show ends.

If you order catalogs to be mailed, please also select the Shipping button to pay $10 for shipping.

Performance Welcome Reception

Saturday evening, September 19, 5:30 cash bar, 6:00 dinner

The Performance Welcome Reception is available for those involved in our performance activities. Everyone is welcome to attend the Performance Parade later in the evening,

This event is sponsored by NBC and also through fundraising efforts at the July 4 Agility Trial. There is NO CHARGE to attend, However, space is limited to 50 attendees, so RSVPs ARE REQUIRED. If the weather cooperates, the welcome party will be outdoors on a partially covered patio. It will take place BEFORE the Performance Parade.

This is a plated meal, featuring pasta primavera. Served with or without chicken, tossed in olive oil and garlic with vegetables. Includes house salad, rolls and butter, assorted desserts, and coffee or ice tea. A cash bar will be available.

Welcome Party

Monday evening, September 21, 5:00 cash bar, 5:30 food service

Join us for our Welcome Party on Monday! This event will take place BEFORE the Junior Showmanship Celebration and Top 20.

There is NO CHARGE to attend. However, due to COVID-19 restrictions, pre-registration is required.

Our theme for the evening is the “Roarin’ Twenties”! Feel free to dress appropriately!

The food includes an assortment of hot and cold hors d’oeuvres, snacks, desserts, and coffee or iced tea. A cash bar will be available.

Top 20 and Junior Showmanship Celebration

Monday evening, September 21, 7:00

Please join us for our Top 20 Competition and Junior Showmanship Celebration! There is no charge to attend, so please join us to celebrate these wonderful beagles and handlers.

The Juniors are included in the Top 20 catalog in a special section.

There is one Top 20 ballot to vote for People’s Choice per catalog. There will be a limited number of catalogs available to purchase at the show.

AmBRNet Auction

Tuesday evening, September 22, 5:30 cash bar, 6:00 dinner

Join us to support this wonderful organization! There is no charge to attend. However, there is a charge for the buffet. A portion of the meal charge will be donated to AmBRNet. A cash bar will be available.

Because of the logistical difficulties due to COVID-19, there will not be a silent auction this year. This means the live auction will be super special! If you would like to donate an item, click here to email Cathy Palmer with the details.

Winner’s Circle Buffet – Order deadline is Friday, September 4

Beef bourguignon over egg noodles, roasted turkey breast with gravy, garden salad, seasonal fruit salad, rice pilaf, twice baked potatoes, rolls and butter, assorted pies and cakes. Fresh brewed coffee, decaf coffee, herbal and iced teas.

CERF Clinic

Wednesday, September 23, 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

CERF Exams will be provided by William Greentree, DVM, DACVO, Board Certified Veterinary Ophthalmologist.

Everyone MUST wear a face mask and maintain social distancing.

$35 cash only, no checks no card.

Eye drops will need to be administered at least 10 minutes before your appointment and will last 3-4 hours. Appointments run every 10 minutes from 9am-3pm.

Education Seminars

Wednesday afternoon, September 23

NOTE: Seminars will take place online, via Zoom. Those who register will be sent the Zoom link. You don’t have to be at the National to virtually attend! We hope to have an area at the National with a big screen where we can watch as a group.

Robert Hutchison, DVM, seminar time approximately 3:30

Dr. Hutchison is a Reproduction and Genetics consultant for the Veterinary Information Network, and is co-director of the Animal Clinic Northview, Inc., in North Ridgeville, Ohio. He is also the president of the International Canine Semen Bank of Ohio, and advisor for College of Veterinary Medicine students interested in small animal theriogenology from OSU, Virginia Tech, Purdue, Tufts, and Michigan State.

Dr. Hutchison is the author of many articles on canine reproduction in leading breed journals and magazines.

There is no charge to attend.

Rick Kesler, DVM, seminar time approximately 5:00

Dr. Kesler has nearly thirty years of experience as a practicing veterinarian and has a special interest in reproduction. As a former breeder and current Scientific Services Veterinarian at Royal Canin, he is actively engaged with the breeder community and continues to share his knowledge by speaking at education seminars across the country. Dr. Kesler works directly with breeders and pet owners on a daily basis to consult on kennel management, nutrition and reproduction techniques. His passions include neonatology and educating breeders on how to reduce the incidence of brucellosis.

This seminar is presented by Royal Canin and will include a raffle. There is no charge to attend.

Awards Dinner

Thursday evening, September 24, 5:30 cash bar, 6:00 dinner

Join us for our Annual Awards Dinner! The 2019 Annual Award Winners will be recognized, as well as the Judges’ Choice for Top 20. Our judge, Michael Faulkner, will also speak.

A cash bar will be available. The dinner will be plated meals, with several options. Dinner MUST be preordered!
